Hardest part: Flying as much as we do.
Worst moment in career: 2006 World Cup in Brazil. I was a couple points behind Peaty going into the penultimate round of the World Cup season. I had things wired with the fastest split. My run took a turn for the worse as a nail went through my rear tire 30 seconds from the finish line. I ended up 23rd.
Best moment in career: Winning the World Championship in 2003.
General career goals: To be the best career athlete I can be.
Favourite food: Japanese and Italian.
Favourite music: Empire Of The Sun, Paramore, Rise Against, Parlotones, Blindside, Grits. I could go on and on.
Best idea of having good time: Riding any kind of bike. A morning on the Golf course followed by an afternoon surfing and to finish off watching the Sharks (Rugby Team) playing at home.
Favourite place to travel to: Japan.
Most respected mountain bike riders: Steve Peat, Nico Vouilloz
Other most respected athletes: Greg Albertyn (Moto-cross) and Beast (Sharks Rugby player)
Favourite riding spots and courses: Wisely Trails and Mont-Sainte-Anne.
Advice to beginners: Practice makes perfect, never give up.
Other sports: Moto-cross, surfing and golf.
Other interests: Helicopters.
If I was not a professional mountain biker ... I would have studied architecture.
Training week: A good few Cross-country rides, 3 times a week at the Gym, Dirt Jumping and motocross 2-3 times a week
