Questionnaire

Why do you ride: I enjoy endurance sports, and challenging myself in sport.
What/who started you racing:
I was nine years old, and my brother rode a mountain bike already, so then I wanted to try it but I didn’t have fun at first, but I pushed on until I had fun :)

Weakness: I’ve been working hard on not having any more weaknesses.
Marital status: Single
Most important people in your life and career: My family

Racing since: 1997
Professional since: 2009

Best part of racing: The tactics of the race, the training, also the tension before the race start, the race itself, and the success.
Hardest part: A pro mountain biker needs to work 7 days a week and not 5 like most jobs.

Worst moment in career: 2012, in middle of the Olympic qualification I had a bad crash in the training, which resulted in a concussion

Best moment in career: 2012, to stand on the podium together with my brother at the World Championships in Saalfelden (AUT)
General career goals: To win World Cup races, become World Champion in Elite, win an Olympic Medal, and race a Downhill World Cup.

Favourite food: Raclette (original Swiss food!)
Favourite reading: most newspapers, and non-fiction books about training, engineering and food

Favourite music: I listen to almost all kinds of music. The question is for me more in which mood or atmosphere I’m in.

Best idea of having good time: Riding on the MTB or MX bike with friend with a beer afterwards…

Favourite place to travel to: New Zealand, South Africa
Other most respected athletes: Ueli Steck (free climber), and Roger Federer

Favourite riding spots and courses: Finale Ligure (ITA), Mont-Sainte-Anne (CAN), Nove Mesto (CZE)
Advice to beginners:
No matter what sport you do, have a dream and make that your goal.

Other sports: Freeriding. Motocross and skiing
Other interests: Machines in general, engineering, trail digging and friends

If I was not a professional mountain biker….. I would be working as an engineer

Medal At World Championships
