Biography

Oli was first seen by 23 Degrees in March 2019 when he took part as one of the Oceania finalists in the Young Talent search, in New Zealand. He was only 13 at the time but showed a lot of skill. Fast forward to 2023 and Oli was regularly setting the fastest time outright against all other male riders, including some World Cup Pros, at the NZ National Series races

Why do you ride: I ride because I have always loved anything with two wheels, and the adrenaline rush that goes along with it.

What/who started you racing: I began riding motorbikes when I was little but lots of my mates rode bikes so they took me to races and it escalated from there.

Weakness: My mindset some days

Most important people in your life and career: My Dad, Mum and Sister.

Best part of racing: Competing against mates that continuously push me to get better.

Hardest part: Injuries.

Worst moment in career: Breaking my wrist

Best moment in career: Getting fastest overall in two NZ National Rounds

General career goals: Keep pushing to reach the top step

Favourite food: Sushi

Favourite reading: Picture Books

Favourite music: Pop, Drum N Bass, Rap

Best idea of having a good time: Spending time with family and friends near the mountains or the ocean.

Advice to beginners: Make the most of every day, because you never know what’s going to happen tomorrow.

If I was not a professional mountain biker.. I would most likely be at School still or be doing a Builders Apprenticeship

Objectives for 2024:

Gain experience in my first year of junior racing.

Achieve some Top 5 results in the World Cups.
