Key Sponsor Quotes:
President of Trek Bicycles, John Burke:
"Having a world class mountain bike race team only makes sense for Trek -- we did it on the road side, and everyone involved upped their game. We now have the best possible mountain bikes and all the tools to support the effort. With the right riders in both downhill and cross country disciplines racing at the highest level and a world class infrastructure behind it, we're quite excited to see the season unfold."
Vice President of Marketing Services at Harman International, Eric Plaskonos:
"JBL is excited to take its long standing partnership with Trek consumers to the next level from the home to the road to the mountains, JBL is dedicated to delivering incredible sound experiences wherever they happen."
Founder of Bontrager, Keith Bontrager:
"I'm stoked. The roster shaped up really well, and I'm particularly excited to see Liam Killeen race I raced in a 24 hour race with him way back when he was a kid, and he put in the fastest lap. But besides that, being associated with the Trek World Racing team will allow us to achieve something that's always been important to me -- putting world class components through the brutal torture that is the highest form of racing. With that, we can develop even better wheels and other components in a very short period of time."
Trek World Racing athletes will be supported by some of the most experienced and talented staff in the business:
Team Director Martin Whiteley (AUS)
Downhill Road Manager/Soigneur Paul Schlitz (AUS)
XC Road Manager/Soigneur Ian Goodhand (GBR)
Team Mechanic XC Oliver Kaderli (SUI)
Team Mechanic DH Sander Gijs (NED)
Team Mechanic N/America Chris Monkey Vasquez (USA)
Team Videographers John and Rob Parkin (GBR)
The primary focus for Trek World Racing will be the World Cups and supporting all riders at the World Championships in Australia. The team will attend all XC and Downhill World Cups this season as well as selected events such as the Absa Cape Epic, Sea Otter Classic, Kokanee Crankworx, Wheels Of Speed, Lisbon Downtown, Roc d'Azur, and selected Swiss Racer Cups, Maxxis Cups and British National XC events.
